• Shelley thanked everyone for the lovely flowers. Very much appreciated.

Jenny
• Afternoon tea at Kingswood PS held on September 1st was very successful. Margaret Redup from Blacktown City Council was an entertaining speaker and has expressed interest in speaking at a full day meeting in 2011. Thanks to Michele Young for hosting.
• Ian McLean and Cathie Cattermole gave us feedback on Book Week activities.

Discussion for Term 4 Professional Learning Day – Thursday 18th November 2010:
Jenny
• Lee FitzGerald is now coming for the whole day
• Elizabeth Richards, Scholastic and Wheeler are our paying sponsors. Wheeler is negotiating directly with Sebel re their Internet connection. Syba Signs will have a stall.
• On the tables will be pen, mints and notepads from Sebel and any other freebies we find.
• Payment of next deposit to Sebel due by 18th October.
• New logo was discussed. Looking great but decided to keep border dark blue and change text to black for a more professional look. Also to change T.L. Learning Group to read Teacher Librarian Professional Learning Group probably on two lines. Jenny will pass this onto Cathie.
• We will need to form a subcommittee to fill showbags. Those present are available.
• We have about 84 participants so far. Jenny has contacted Sebel to let them know numbers will be around 100 rather than 120.
• Jenny will open up the registrations to Retraining participants and mentors at the meeting this coming week. Closing date for registration will be changed to Tuesday 12th October (Term 4 Week 1) to allow for last minute participants.

Lee A.
• Looked into printed bags. $85 set up cost and $513.50 for 130 bags + freight. Lee will ring to confirm copyright on artwork and cost of freight.
• Bags look great. Committee decided to have navy bags to match our logo with white writing. We are financial enough and have enough time to go ahead and order for the conference day in November.
• Lee has books from Scholastic for the showbags. We will do a primary school showbag and a high school showbag like we did last year. Handouts to go in the showbags are from Ross Todd, Survey, Jenny Scheffers, Lee Fitzgerald.

Discussion re Term 4 Professional Learning Day – Thursday 18th November 2010

 Accommodate 120 delegates
 At present, no group has booked Ross for Friday to share the cost. We have enough money to cover the event if needed.
 $500 deposit has already been paid
 Unlikely that Lee FitzGerald will be available to present in the afternoon session – as yet no reply from the Principal of Loreto College
 Advertise this event at the Term 2 PD day
 Promote available seats to our district first, then to others if necessary

 Bronwyn has ordered a word wall (vinyl lettering) from Syba Signs which will be completed in time for the PL day – a great promotional opportunity for Syba Signs. Syba Signs flyers will be distributed on the day in return for a $50 lucky door prize.

Evaluation of Term 4 Professional Learning Day – Tuesday 17th November 2009
Lee:
 Finances are not set up for GST or the payment of wages
 Lorraine given a voucher to the value of one day casual pay for work done for the Term 2 Professional Learning Day
 Schools requested payment for casual relief for Ruth, Pam and Janelle to present at our meeting – Lizzie Chase organised and covered payments
 Consider using vouchers for payment in future
 Payment on invoice for presenters from outside the DET is not a problem.
